Westonbirt Arboretum – Two Epic New Play Areas

Westonbirt Arboretum – Two Epic New Play Areas

I had a great time photographing the two brand new play areas at Westonbirt Arboretum this month. The photos are now all over the internet as part of a press release announcing the arrival of these exciting new zones, called ‘Holford Hollow’ and ‘Branch Out’. They’re striking creations made of beautiful wood, rope and fixings located in the Old Arboretum amongst the surrounding trees, a location which is intended to encourage off-path exploration and discovery.

Although this specific job was to take play area photography, there’s a lot more at Westonbirt. Here’s the blurb from the website: “Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the most beautiful and important plant collections in the world. With 15,000 specimens, and 2,500 species of tree from all over the globe, the arboretum plays a vital part in research and conservation, as well as being a stunningly beautiful place to visit.”. This description doesn’t mention all the other activities for children which are available, too. See more about these superb additions (and general information) to the Westonbirt experience at this link.
