Portrait Session photo shoot with musician, public speaker and podcaster Katie Elliott

Recently it was my great pleasure to photograph Katie Elliott for some new press shots… I know Katie as a talented multi-instrumentalist, at the moment she’s perhaps most well known for her piano playing (here’s a Spotify link to her beautiful album of piano music ‘Walking The Edge’ also available on Amazon), but she’s also a podcaster and public speaker who’s picking up a lot of attention.

Katie’s company Little Challenges is ‘a place to find ideas, tools and inspiration to make being human a little bit easier’. You can find out information there about her podcasts and also forthcoming book. 

Katie asked me if I’d like to do a portrait session… the brief was to take a set of images which would cover all of her various needs. We started with the headphones image above for her podcast.

It was very easy working with Katie and I really wanted to put across how friendly and warm she is. Next we tried some slightly more corporate shots with a laptop in view.

Finally we needed a straight headshot which would be multi-purpose, the garden seemed a good breezy environment for this and brought a pleasing brightness to the images.

I’m pleased to see that Katie has already started using the images in various places – her Linkedin profile, her website as well public speaking events listings and more, it’s a great thing to see pictures we’ve created out there. Hope to work with you again in the future, Katie!
